Net Video

Paste a supported public video URL, let VoxStudio extract the audio, and continue in the workbench.

Usage

Use Net Video when the source is already published online and you have a direct public URL.

This flow is useful for interviews, talks, lectures, podcasts, and other public videos you do not need to download manually first.

Before you start

The link must be a valid public `http` or `https` URL.

Meeting URLs are not handled here. Google Meet, Teams, and Zoom meeting links belong in Meet Bot or the relevant integration flow.

Only the currently supported public video platforms can be imported through this workflow.

If the source platform blocks extraction or requires a private login, the safest fallback is to download the media yourself and use Upload File.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Net Video

From the dashboard or transcription tabs, choose Net Video.

  2. Paste the full public URL

Use the complete video link rather than a shortened meeting code or partial URL. VoxStudio validates the URL before extraction.

  3. Submit the source

If the source passes checks, VoxStudio creates a session and starts extraction. Some platforms need extra probing before download starts.

  4. Wait for extraction and processing

The system downloads the source audio, saves the media into the session pipeline, and then continues through preprocessing and transcription.

  5. Open the finished session

After processing, the session appears in Recent and opens in the workbench like any other transcription session.

Tips and examples

If you expect to retry the same source often, keep a local copy so you can switch to Upload File when the public source becomes unstable.

Public videos with very long runtimes usually take longer to probe and extract. Expect a longer wait than a local upload of the same length.

If the page title or thumbnail looks wrong, the platform metadata may have changed. The transcript result still depends on the extracted audio, not the title alone.

Common problems and fixes

Why does VoxStudio say this link is not supported?

The URL may point to an unsupported platform, a private source, or a page that does not expose downloadable media. Download the media manually and use Upload File.

Why did the failed session disappear later?

Some unsupported temporary Net Video sessions are auto-cleaned after failure so your workspace does not fill up with broken imports.

Why is extraction taking longer than expected?

The platform may be rate-limiting access, the source may be long, or the worker may need additional probing. Refresh the session status first.

FAQ

Can I use a private or unlisted video?

Only if the source can be reached by the current extraction pipeline. If the source depends on a browser login or other private access, use a downloaded file instead.

Can I paste a podcast page URL?

Only when the page resolves to a supported public media source. Otherwise, upload the audio file directly.

Does Net Video keep the video too?

The main goal is extracting audio into the transcription workflow. Video-related availability depends on the source and later session artifacts.

Can I use this for Zoom or Google Meet recordings?

Use Upload File if you already have the recording file. Use Meet Bot or integrations if the meeting has not happened yet.
