Vocal Repair

Improve damaged or noisy voice recordings and download a cleaner result for editing or publishing.

Usage

Use Vocal Repair when the voice track is usable but needs cleanup, such as noise reduction or clarity improvement.

This is especially useful for old recordings, rough remote-call captures, and vocal stems that still sound harsh after separation.

Before you start

Like Vocal Separation, this tool accepts Upload, Net Video, or completed Session sources.

The source session path is only available for completed sessions in the postprocess stage.

Uploads must be audio or video files. Unsupported source kinds are rejected before the task runs.

The better the original speech quality, the more natural the repaired result tends to sound.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Vocal Repair

Go to Sound → Vocal Repair.

  2. Choose an input source

Pick Upload, Net Video, or a completed session.

  3. Submit the repair task

Uploads go through signed upload first; existing sessions or Net Video sources reuse their known media source.

  4. Track progress

The task reports queued, processing, completed, failed, or expired states through the task event stream.

  5. Download the repaired result

When the task completes, use the result download options to save the cleaned file.

Tips and examples

If the noise is mostly music or ambience, Vocal Separation may be the better first step. You can repair the isolated vocal afterward.

For heavily distorted speech, the tool can improve clarity but may not fully restore missing detail.

Compare the repaired file against the original before replacing it in a production workflow.

Common problems and fixes

Why does the result not sound dramatically different?

The source may already be close to clean, or the damage may be too severe for the current model to fully restore.

Why does my session source fail here?

Check that the session is completed and in the postprocess stage. Incomplete sessions are not valid audio-tool inputs.

Why did the task fail after uploading?

The media may be damaged, too short, or unsupported by the repair pipeline. Retry with a stable export of the same content.

Why does the repaired output still include background noise?

Repair focuses on improving vocal clarity, not necessarily removing every background layer. Use separation first when the mix is crowded.

FAQ

Can I repair a video file directly?

Yes, as long as the file contains an audio track. VoxStudio processes the media input and returns the repaired result.

Can I use this on a completed transcription session?

Yes. Session input is supported once the session is completed.

Do I need to transcribe before using Vocal Repair?

No. Vocal Repair is an audio tool, not a transcript requirement.

Can I run Vocal Repair after Vocal Separation?

Yes. That is a good sequence when you need a cleaner isolated vocal stem.
